Well, I’ve never heard it being described as such, but a “fire” meme is as good as any to describe a PR nightmare, given wings. And tinder. And a flamethrower. Some tips on how to avoid it, for PR fans out there.

Thanks for the mention. I think many of these firememes can be avoided with good listening skills. But hey, that is the basics of good PR and old fashioned relationship building, too bad not many do it.

Aren’t these types of posts just a lazy form of linkbait? I came to your blog from problogger but this kind of thing irritates me.
Also could you use the standard approach and uncheck that followup comments box by default? I didn’t notice it last time and got a bunch of crap I didn’t want as a result.
Your outlook has been a vauable resource but these two things just strike me as short-sited.

“Short-sited” — nice pun. ;)
Are they “lazy”? Sure, they’re a quick way to post. On the other hand, I’ve been kind of busy recently (see my most recent post), so I thought they’d be better than nothing.
But linkbait? Nah. Who wants to link to my recommended reads?
As for keeping the followup comments box unchecked, I may do that, thanks for the “recommendation” :)
Cheers
