[SELF PROMO ALERT] Liz Strass from Successful-Blog did an interview we me yesterday thanks to the miracle of Skype (thanks be to Skype!). If you’ve ever wanted to know a thing about me or three, head over to Successful-blog.com, where I detail how I came up with this silly non-sensical name for this blog, what I do for real when not on this blog, and how I got involved in the blogging attempts I do.
[SELF PROMO ALERT 2] I’ve also started working with the open journalism project over at NewAssignment.net, and have contributed my first article, which is a review on MyBlogLog. Bottom line: Me-likey MyBlogLog — it puts a layer of social networking on blogs that tracks bloggers where they go, and conversely, allows you to attach a face and name to who’s going where. With some new privacy controls, it continues to rock. Go MBL, Go!

Okay, so you have my attention. Who’s Marsha?

Oh, its that whiny Jan from the Brady Bunch.
In trying to come up with a title about a post essentially about me or my writings, I thought of the whiny refrain from Jan when she was jealous about her older sister Marsha … its a bit non sequitur, but hey … that’s how I am too sometimes. ;)
Incidentally, I got her name wrong — its “Marcia”.
Exerpted from the font of all knowledge (wikipedia, ‘natch)
Jan Brady is the middle Brady daughter and was portrayed by Eve Plumb. Story lines which involve Jan often feature her jealousy of her seemingly more popular older sister Marcia, or her awkward position as the middle child. In addition, Jan is insecure about having freckles and wearing glasses, embarrassed about the fact she does not have a boyfriend (even inventing a fictional one named “George Glass”), and concerned about her future appearance. A typical plot line surrounding Jan would feature her attempting to carve out her niche in the family, or make a name for herself at school. Once, in exasperation at her supposed inferiority to Marcia, she uttered the now famous catch phrase, “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” which was later parodied in the Brady Bunch movie.

I like mybloglog. I’m annoyed at newassignment, mostly because one of their “reporters” was bothering the hell out of me for an interview on a Saturday, and wouldn’t take no for an answer. (He was going to misrepresent me no matter what, and did so anyway, so I wasn’t helping.)
