At around 7pm last night, what’s thought to be a bomb, or perhaps, several bombs went off near the PayPal exit of the eBay/PayPal Campus. 24 people were inside, and there was damage to some windows. According to a local CBS affiliate:
The fire department responded to the building at 2211 North 1st St. at 7:31 pm after being contacted by the building’s private alarm company that some windows were broken and several explosions may have occurred inside, according to Guerrero. Authorities confirmed only one explosion Tuesday night and said damage was limited to a shattered window and its frame, Guerrero said.
Well, thank God no one got hurt. But it does raise other questions — Was it corporate espionage? A poorly executed Hallow’s Eve prank? More details to come as I hear them.
But it certainly puts all the other news in stark relief today.
UPDATE: tip: Amit Agarwal — A local blogger, Julie Meloni, says that no one was hurt, all will probably resume work today because it wasn’t a radioactive bomb (wtf!); watch the CBS report here.
