@Philippe — no question that there are unresolved issues, but its a pity. They are legitimate challenges, but in those challenges lie legitimate opportunity … and I don’t buy Google’s “we just want to be an aggregator” line, because their comment system is the very definition of what that is not.

As for Knol … let us know of anything specific, because I haven’t heard anything about it in a long time.

why not let the bimbo release her bile of fox ‘news’ where it surely belongs ? jimbo has allowed forbes.con’s gary weiss or his go-fer mantanmoreland to write his own vanity biography and to delete a not so pleasant bio of Steve Forbes’ National Taxpayers Union founder James Dale Davidson who also founded the scammy penny stock promotion and ‘holding company’ Agora Inc of Baltimore.And Agora Inc’s Lila Rajiva withher far right connections to Ron Paul,Mark Skousen and Bill Bonner of Agora Inc got her very own vanity bio as well.
there are plenty more deserving of a podium than these Beltway and penny stock con artists….fox
of rupert murdoch and forbes are one and trhe same anyway and have a strangle hold on dominant corp media.

Ex Chicago Mercantile speculator Jimbo Wales already let the fox into wikipedia when he let geico billionaire’s son patrick byrne of overstock.con and forbes’ boy gary weiss run penny stock ‘naked shorting’ misinformation campaigns there.when jimbo let forbes into wikipedia he invited the fox(‘news’)in and marsden is exactly that………

Hmm interesting. But I think there’s a lot of unresolved stuff at Google News -from a business and IP perspective- that is holding them back as a news org. It’s been like that from the start. It may not prevent them from soliciting comments as you suggest but it does impact their aggressiveness as a whole. Add to that that their mindset is still that of an aggregator. And now Knol is a introducing a whole new set of issues with content partners and wikipedia for which there are certainly negotiations underway. Under these circumstances, this is a story they may not want to touch, even if they had the editorial inclination and structure to do so.
