The Forced Evolution of Online Advertising: Thank the BNP

by Tony Hung on August 4, 2007

Not that I really know much about the BNP than what’s mentioned in the BBC — but I suspect that improved targeting, and building in the boolean operator “NOT” into the self-serve online advertising (and full-serve too, I imagine) is what will come out of advertisers pulling out of Facebook, because their ads are being served on the BNP profile (a controversial political party).  Which strikes me as a bit silly, as, to my own layman’s view, it doesn’t sound all that hard to do.  (if (profile!=”do_not_show_list) {show_ads()}).
