So, Steve Rubel is justifying his posting less and microblogging more. Me? I think this is a bit of a cop out, no matter what he writes. Relying on 140 character twits is in some small part a zero-sum game, where it means *less* postings. I’d buy his argument if his posts before sucked, but no matter how I’ve ranted, they were actually pretty good, if not entertaining. Boo for Steve on this one.

I’m biased. I flat-out don’t like the migration by some, away from real blogging and toward Twitter, Facebook, etc. There’s something to be said for real writing and effort. Where some might be satisfied with 100-character “updates”, that’s not blogging per se, that’s text messaging, and any 15 year old can do it. Steve’s a professional, and we should hold him to higher expectations.
