In addition to my usual rants, and sometimes news, I’ve decided to add reviews as a regular thing I do on this blog. But, alas, not just any ol’ reviews of software, blogs, or what not.

I’ve decided to concentrate on *beta* reviews of upcoming web applications or web related software.

Why now?

Well, I’ve gotten quite a few solicitations in the past, and of the few reviews I’ve done they’ve been received pretty well. In addition I think there is a real interest from a) web developers in trying to create some awareness for their products and b) readers, bloggers, and early adopters as to what’s coming down the pike, but not quite ready for prime time (i.e TechCrunch).

If you’re an up and coming developer and you’re looking for some free buzz, let me know through my contact form, and we’ll see what we can do for you.

So, why would you want me to do a review for you? Well, according to ReviewMe, I could sell paid reviews on this blog for up to $250, but my reviews will be *free*.

Personally, I would have a hard problem in writing an unbiased review if someone was paying me to do so. Although, it can clearly be lucrative.

Other reasons? Well, although this blog has modest traffic, it has been picked up, and noticed by a few other sites around the interwebs, such as Wired, Crunchnotes, GigaOM, and the Guardian Unlimited.

If you’re a developer with something interesting cooking and you’re not afraid of a public opinion on how your work is going (it might even be critical!) let me know and we can get something going.
