So, if I was a *diligent* blogger, I would have followed up the A-list dust up with some more blogging to capture some new readers. Alas, a few other things have kept me busy. In no specific order:
1. Life: ah yes, the “life” card … work, being on call, and so on has kept its toll. Unluckily for me I will be working this holiday weekend, as I worked last weekend as well. Sometime next week I’ll have worked for twenty one straight days … but someone’s got to do it, I guess. Oh, and this little guy:
My son at 3 months I love Zooomr
I deliberately chose a cute picture because I don’t actually have one when he’s wailing at around 2 o’clock in the morning. Ah, the challenges of sleep routines in infants … something that my wife and I are getting a crash course in, and, we’re learning the hard way that we’re doing pretty much everything wrong. Hopefully when #2 rolls around we’ll be a little wiser about such things as setting routines and so on.
2. The BlogHerald: No, I haven’t been blogging so much there *either*, but there are some changes that are coming in the next few weeks or so that have been taking up my attention. When I took up the position as editor, I didn’t realize (or rather, appreciate), how much more time would be taken up doing administrative stuff rather than actually blogging. Hopefully that will begin to change very, very soon.
3. Non-Tech Blogging: Amongst my other interests, I also have an interest in China as a topic of news, culture, and events. Stuff like how McDonald’s has been underpaying its part-time employees in China, or how its one-child policy has started to change in one province, at least, or how illiteracy is actually *rising* in China. I started blogging tidbits that my father would pass along to me along with other things that are of interest — mostly as a journal to keep for myself. I’ve learned, actually, that once you start blogging about something, you start getting to know and appreciate the topic much more than if you just read it. Funny — when you think about it, its almost like it could be used as an educational tool or something. ;) Anyway, if you’re interested on my own take of “News on China” you can try on China-bits.com and let me know what you think.
4. Top Secret Blogging Project: Well, anything more and I’d be saying too much. Whoops … I’ve already said too much. Actually, its something that I’m hoping to roll out at an undetermined point in the future when my life quiets down a bit. But its funny as no one has really ever thought of this blogging “niche” before in the Tech blogosphere. I’ll give anyone a prize for figuring it out. Hmmm … let’s say a free sponsored link for a month.
5. DJI Housekeeping Issues: Yes, I’ve signed up with the good folks at Text Link Ads, and earlier this week I’ve gotten my first few sponsors. The reason why it took so long (I think) is perhaps my ad was in the wrong category (”technology” as opposed to “Web 2.0″). Anyway, two out of a possible six spots have now been secured for the rest of the month. If you’re interested in sponsoring this blog, you can do so through Text-Link-Ads for the low price of $55 / month. I should take a minute to thank the current sponsors. This includes Watch Internet TV, which is a site which indexes sites which have internet video. Unlike other sites, the sites and videos which Watch Internet TV catalogues are strictly legit and safe for work. The second sponsor is VOIP Monitor, which is a site which lists and ranks different VOIP services around the world, including the USA, Canada, Australia, Italy, Korea, all the way to South Africa. If you find yourself in a different part of the world and are looking for cheap VOIP services, check it out.
By the way, if you’re interested in signing up to buy links at Text-Link-Ads, you could get $100 off if you want. Just click here (yes, an affiliate link).
I also decided to upgrade (finally) to Wordpress 2.1.x. I’ve got to say that I love the version 2.1, what with the better visual editor (I know, I know … but I like it anyway), and a host of other good things.
Enough blathering and back to blogging!

I’ve also got an interest in China, I live in Beijing! I built a news/blog/travel aggregator, maybe you’ll find it useful.

Wow, I thought there was something missing from my feed reader recently. Glad you’re back posting, everyone needs a little time away though.
I look forward to finding out about the Top Secret Project too, though I have no idea what niche you’re aiming for. You have me on edge in pure anticipation though.
I bet it’s a…blog on how to use web 2.0 to make money online! That’s about as creative as this sheep can be right now. I tried thinking of what it could be for a while, and I’m sure it’s one of those “how the heck is that not being done” type of things, but you have me stumped. Maybe a software focused blog (e.g. offline “2.0″ products)? I can’t recall seeing much out there on such things, but I must admit the only tech blogs I read are web related.
Hey Neal … thanks for the try. But its not a review blog, nor a how-to blog. But now that you think about it … ;)
Cheers
