Its been a crazy nutter week for me, what with busy clinical responsibilities, and it seems to be culminating in some personnel changes at the BlogHerald. For the past 5 weeks or so, Abe “Yugatech” Olandres has been at the helm of the ship as the Editor. However, he’s run into some changes with his personal and professional responsibilities, and we’ve agreed to switch roles.
Yes, that’s right.
I have agreed to step in to take over as the Editor of the BlogHerald. The official announcement and other details have been made over here at the BlogHerald.
Life has taken some extraordinary turns over the past 6-7 months. Needless to say its been pretty amazing that I have been given this opportunity and I am going to do my damndest to make the most of it — not just for Mark, J. Angelo, and the rest of the crew at the BlogHerald (and it is a damn fine crew), but for everyone who is a fan of where the BlogHerald has come from to where it is right now.
More to come in the near future about more thoughts and feelings on the issue, but I felt it wasn’t right NOT commenting on it in some fashion on the “home” blog and letting you guys know. As always, I’m always welcome to your thoughts and opinions on the matter. Leave’em below or contact me at your leisure.
Cheers,
Tony.

I heard the news at BH, it’s certainly merits a big CONGRATULATIONS! I am positive that you can handle this new task!
I’m sorry for Abe’s problems, I commented over there at BH that maybe he should solicit the expertise of larger hosting companies like 1and1.com, or hostgator, etc. I know they face similar lawsuits on a daily basis, and I’m sure they will be willing to help…

Hi Tony, as a new blogger and also as a fellow health professional (RN) I’m impressed with your ability to maintain your blog, guest blog over at Pro-blogger, and now be editor at Blog Herald - as well as medicine. Congrats on your editing role. Have you got any tips on where you find the time and energy to do all this? Cheers, Liz

Contrary to Dave Krug, you’ve been big league for awhile. This is just a title and I’m sure you’ll kick ass. Best of luck to Abe as well.

Dave C,
It was merely a joke. The guy is a Cancer DR. that’s the real big leagues.

David,
Thanks for the props.
And just a small correction — I am a doctor, but one in the middle (sort of near the end )of his training. Rotating through oncology and palliative care was one facet of it, but an educational one in many, many, ways that I will never forget.

Hsien,
I’m glad you liked the icon. Is it lavender? It just looks bluishy-pink to me. ;) (I’m colorblind thanks to my Mother’s family)
You’re welcome to use it for any means if you like (b5media included).

Nick,
Thanks for the kind words. We’re being as supportive as we can towards Abe. As publishers of a kind, its something any one of us could find ourselves in.
“There but the grace of God … ” after all.

I worked at an oncology camp for 3 months. I can’t imagine working in a hospital. You are a hero that’s for sure.

I *also* would not be where I am today if it weren’t for bloggers such as yourself. And I think I also told you. ;)
[but if I hadn't, consider this a giant tip of the hat]

Liz,
Funny question about the prospect of “time” — I find you tend to find some when you really, really need it. Also, sleep is overvalued.
You know what? Those are cheap answers.
Here’s a better one.
The truth is that I have tried to train my mind to be able to blog quickly and efficiently. If I only have an hour, I don’t squander my time surfing or emailing listlessly. If I have to blog, I just do it.
And having something down, almost inevitably, is better than having nothing down. ;)
(almost!)
Cheers — and a tip of the hat to a fellow medical professional.

Marlo,
See the above … but I can get away with less sleep for a while. Doing 30 shifts doesn’t change your body’s need for sleep — but it does changes its perception of sleep deprivation.

No, we can only do our best be honest upfront and keep going.
That’s what life is all about. Props for you for taking on so much and making a reality out of the simple.
Simply being a good human is all that matters.

I run a fairly small start-up web hosting here in the Philippines. One of our former clients runs a forum that we used to host. Several members of that forum were throwing vindictives against a their former employer. That employer sent us a demand letter thru their law firm demanding that we terminate the site or be charged with libel as well. The client moved out from us the following day.
