One of the things that continualy bothers me about the &quot;dialog&quot; going on about social media, is the participants are so homogenous. It&#039;s all true believers, or those aspiring to true belief, who are so deep in the big trees they have no view of the forest around them. The irony is that the whole point about social media is the democratization of content--a distribution of viewpoints and ideas. And yet all the viewpoints and ideas shaping the debate are coming from people pontificating from a single perch. I&#039;m writing a parallel post now about the suggested banishment of the word &quot;audience&quot;, because that word means &quot;one-way&quot; broadcasting, and in the brave new world of social media, that&#039;s ~bad~. Sigh.</description>
