Well, must read for *me* anyway — its an oldie but a goodie … a collection of thoughts from the web about how people got their posts a HUGE spike in traffic using bookmarking methods.

Courtesy of the NYTimes (via the Pew Project) — older teenage girls are more likely to use social networking sites than boys or girls of any age. Hmmm … no surprise there.

Not that I’m going to be changing themes anytime soon, but a nice laundry list of things to keep in mind. I find that the plugins are the hardest, as they might break a theme … gotta be done one at a time.

Believe it or not, I’m in that 1% … BuzzCanuck describes me as a “Geekie Tech Journalist”. Hey, I’ll take it over “turd burglar” any day of the week. ;) Great list of Canadian bloggers though.

StumbleUpon can drive traffic over the long term; question: does actually participating in Stumbleupon increase the chance of your own blog being stumble-uponed? Hmmmm …

re: Canada’s 1% Blogging Army … // I’m not really sure what “Power 150-ish Canadian MARCOM Bloggers” means .. and don’t you find it odd that there are blogs from New York, California, San Francisco and Chicago on there .. but none from Winnipeg? :p
At least it’s a list. There aren’t too many Canuck lists around, still in operation.

I can attest to the power of StumbleUpon — I got something like 1,750 uniques the other day, more than I think I’ve ever had in a single day, and about 1,300 of them came from StumbleUpon. Amazing. And yet, hardly anyone writes about it, at least compared with Digg.

It really is so hard to get dugg if you’re not politics or technology oriented these days… and even if you submit your own story, there’s a lot of digg core groups that will take over that story and submit it themselves…
But, I’m still a newbie, and yet, your suggestion of stumbleupon back at problogger, has helped me out a great deal..
Thanks tony..

ha ha…you said turd burgler! i know what morning show you listen to!
i’ve just started playing with stubmleupon over the last few days. Too soon to see any difference. One thing I have noticed is that the stumble tool bar has slowed down my browser.
