Personally I found his comment a bit spammy; it was 3 paragraphs of "this is what we do, and here is why its better and its free (mentioned twice, I think). Ultimately, its up to the community to decide and it seems like no one else seems to be bothered by it. I think that's generally ok, so long as it's not too long a comment it just adds to the conversation.
