Mark Cuban hits the nail on the proverbial head with his latest post: Rahul’s Sood’s latest post is tremendously motivational, fascinating, and above all, passionate in the way that he takes apart his own thinking as it applies to the industry of luxury computing.
It got me thinking: much like Great Sex, Passion is something you just can’t fake.
And Passion is, perhaps, the secret sauce of many great blogs — and corporate blogs are no exception.
Sure, you might be rapping about the latest internals, or how your latest quarter might affect everything from accounting to HR, or how a bit of industry trivia might be the key to shaking up your industry — but it doesn’t need to be dry and analytical. Keeping it more than readable — virtually magnetic — is easy as long as you’re passionate what you’re writing about.
I’ve got to admit that I didn’t really keep track of Rahul Sood’s blog (and here I am typing a way on a big grey box), but I’ve got to say that even if you don’t know of, care about, or have a role in the computer industry you can’t help but get fascinated by his latest post.
Blogging is all about engaging your readers on a tighter more visceral level — and corporate blogging is no different. If its full of corporate-speak and double talk its of absolutely no use, and might trigger the opposite respose than what you’re really looking for. Being real with your readers is part of it — but so is that x-factor, passion. Believe in what you do and your faithful readers (even if its only an audience of a few), and that unbelievable energy, zest, and love will come through.
And, your readers will reward you in kind. ;)
