Yeah, sometimes I feel this lazySo sometime back I posted a little something on how I like to create high value posts at little or no cost (wow, I sound like a salesman). It involved using del.icio.us’s daily post to blog tool — which I stand by, is one of the greatest blogging tools ever if you use it properly.

Well, I learned the hard way one of the subtle nuances that you ought to be aware of.
When you configure your del.icio.us account’s post-to-blog settings, you must specify a TIME for it to post to your blog. I put it at around 2am … I figured that at that time I’m wrapping things up, I’ve got no more bookmarks, and it would be time to let del.icio.us do all the hard lifting.

Well — I never paid much attention to it, but it turns out there is anywhere between a 15minute and 30minute lag time between when you cofigure the post and when it ACTUALLY posts.

Yesterday, I have to admit I was caught up in the Season premiere of Prison Break, and then a whole lot of other prime time television, and before I knew it I hadn’t gotten to all that dedicated blogging I usually do.

And it was 2am.

And I thought, “well, that’s just extra time for me to sneak in my bookmarks”.

NOT SO.

Pearl of the Day: Don’t be SO lazy that you start sneaking in bookmarks in that “deadzone” time, between when you originally scheduled the post and when it actually posts — because del.icio.us is too busy processing your bookmarks it just won’t recognize it.

Hence, my recommended reads for today only have ONE post, and the one for tomorrow, may have an extra thick one!
