There are so many blogs that are starting up every hour of every day that, just like the probability of intelligent life in outer space, its likely that somewhere someone in your company is going to start blogging.
The question is how you’re going to deal with it.
Rod over at Innovation Creation talks about an interview with Intuit’s Scott Wilder about how they took the initiative and started to provide tools for bloggers to make it EASIER for them to blog.
It kind of reminds me of what my Grandfather said a few years ago. He was asked by a friend of his why he allowed his sons to play in a rock band and make such a bloody ruckus underneath their roof.
He said (and I paraphrase):
“Well, better to let them do it here where I can see them. Sure, sometimes it can raise a bloody ruckus, but better have them here, rather than out there where they could be doing who knows what.”
What can I say about my grandfather — the man was talking about corporate blogging 60 years before the fact … a man before his time. ;)
