takin' the plunge.. and goes “fulltime”. Yes, one of the contributors to Lifehacker has gone “Pro” yesterday. Wendy Boswell blogs in all of your fantasizing glory about taking the plunge from part time to full time blogger — the challenges, the risks, the precautions, and the sheer thrill of it all.

Well, its always a ballsy move, but I think they’ve got a proven brand in LifeHacker and have had a ‘dry run’ for a few years now. Sure, people always throw that old chestnut of “90% of small businesses fail within the first x years”, and there are other other pundits with their theories as to WHY this happens (lack of capital, lack of interest, lack of marketing and so on), but I think this is going to work for them.

When you’ve clearly got a ’small business’ that “Works” — that is, very simply, pulling in more money than is spending it, I think its something that is worth taking the plunge on.

Going “Pro” means having more time and energy to devote to the business.

You’ll have more time not just working IN the business (to quote the “E-Manager”, a small business classic), but ON the business — which can’t but BE a good thing.

All the best to Wendy Boswell … we’re all pullin’ for ya! :)
