A Colonic for the Mind — GTD’s “Mindsweep”.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a colonic, because it refers to the colon; total hemispheric reboot, perhaps?
Anyway, funny that 43 folders mentioned the “Mindsweep”, because I am in the process of doing it today.
I think that one of the most important things GTD does is suggest the “Total Inbox” process, whereby you collect ALL “inputs” [...]

Importing Del.icio.us Links — Is there a Better Way?

So I’ve looked into an easy way of importing del.icio.us links into the blog.
So far, whether you google it up, or hit up the Codex (http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Delicious), there are a lot of solutions that aren’t quite what you’re looking for, or look complicated or outdated (requires wp1.2?).
Anyway, I’ve found one solution that does that job. [...]

Blogging Metrics: Adventures with Slimstat

So in a previous post I lazily mentioned a few ‘tracking’ programs to track your visitors.
Well, I haven’t tried “MINT”, because I am quite cheap — however, amongst the other tracking programs that I have tried — which have reasonable plugins for Wordpress of course — SLIMSTAT really only fits the bill.

4) Sort out footer
5) Figure out a ‘download” section
6) Have an “above the fold” ADMIN link
7) Create a [...]

Portforwarding tricks redux

So on my machine, portforwarding is kind of a must to get the p2p factory working right.
If its not done right, there is a noticable difference … d/l rates can go from 5kbs –> 100kbs if done right.
Currently using uTorrent: great, because its small footprint (compared to azureus), and ease of use.
There is another post [...]

Pando is great

http://www.pando.com — one of the new web2.0-ish personal p2p services, allows you to send large bulky files pretty effortlessly.  However, it requires a small download-of-a-client.  Apparently, it works by (I think) two non-competing ways; both the sender AND giant “telenodes” can act as a ’sender’ of sorts of the file.  I think the telenode will [...]
